Catalogue shopping started many years ago. It offers the convenience of shopping from the comfort of your armchair at a time to suit you. Catalogues also offer the convenience of either paying in full for your purchases, or spreading the cost over a certain period of time. Do check the terms and conditions of the credit they extend to you - it often attracts a high interest rate. Because of the ability of obtaining items on extended credit - you can often pay weekly amounts - catalogue shopping has attracted a poor reputation and was seen to be ideal for those on a tighter budget. Their prices were always slightly higher than those found on the high street too.
