Catalogue shopping started many years ago. It offers the convenience of shopping from the comfort of your armchair at a time to suit you. Catalogues also offer the convenience of either paying in full for your purchases, or spreading the cost over a certain period of time. Do check the terms and conditions of the credit they extend to you - it often attracts a high interest rate. Because of the ability of obtaining items on extended credit - you can often pay weekly amounts - catalogue shopping has attracted a poor reputation and was seen to be ideal for those on a tighter budget. Their prices were always slightly higher than those found on the high street too. However, catalogue companies are doing all they can to dispel their old reputation, and most will now not automatically assume that you want to purchase from them on account, and their prices are more competitive.
