Your Horse in the UK

Stables

Finding the right, or best, place for stabling your horse in the UK can be a daunting task.

Does the one you have your sights on cater for dressage horses?

Will they accept a stallion?

Is there a stable within a 30 minute drive of your new home?

These are all questions that could be the vital criteria to you in choosing a new home for your horse.

The Relocation Bureau can help you to find exactly the right place. Contact Us.

Insurance

Petplan Equine, part of the Cornhill Insurance group, is the leading supplier of insurance for horses and ponies in the equine insurance market. Check out their FAQs page.

Web Sites

Useful sites to look at for all things relating to equine matters are www.horseweb-uk.com, www.horseonline.co.uk and www.petplanet.co.uk

They also have open forum sections where specific questions can be answered about any general concerns you may have about moving your horse to the UK.

Another good website to look at is www.bhs.org.uk.  This is the website of the British Horse Society, which is the largest UK charity for horses and ponies, and the site contains very useful information and links.

British Equine Veterinary Association provides a useful Guide to Professional Health Care for Your Horse.

Horse and Pony Breed Societies

 Equine Magazines

There are a number of equine magazines published in the UK which are available from newsagents - you may find that you will have to order the particular magazine you are interested in as not all newsagents will stock the magazines that are available.

One of the most popular magazines is Horse and Hound.  It is published every Thursday and contains interesting articles as well as practical tips. We are always happy to obtain a magazine for a client and forward it on.

Horse Events

There is an established horse fraternity within the UK and there are good contacts for dressage, show-jumping, racing, side-saddle riding and vaulting (as well as all sorts of other elements of horse riding) to be found.

The British Equestrian Federation governs the sport within the UK. They have a good all round web site with many links at www.bef.co.uk
