    The London Underground (The Tube)

The London Underground serves Central London and the London suburbs. There are 12 lines and hundreds of stations with interchanges at many stations throughout London, including all Mainline stations which serve the rest of the UK and Europe.

The Piccadilly Line operates through London to Heathrow Airport. There is no Tube service to Gatwick Airport or Stansted Airport. For information on airport links click here.

Tube maps are posted at all stations as well as being freely available in printed form. They are easy to understand and essential for finding your way around. The 12 lines have different names and are colour coded.

The Tube is organised into 6 Zones for fare calculation. Zone 1 is Central London and Zone 6 the outer London suburbs.
